2 Watching Steps of a

چکیده
Bartkowiak and Szustalewicz, 1997 (B&Sz), have proposed an implementation of the grand tour algorithm designed specially to detect outliers in multivariate data. The algorithm works by performing a sequence of rotations and projections onto a speciic 2D-plane ((proj). This is equivalent to perform a series of rotations yielding transformed coordinates of the data: X (tr) = XA, with A being the rotation matrix, while X and X (tr) denote the data matrices before and after the rotation appropriately. A superimposed concentration ellipse indicates the outstanding points. We complement the paper of B&Sz by considering some details and variants of the implementation of the grand tour algorithm. In particular we watch the trajectories of the projected points. Our concern is the denseness of the watched projections. We look at the trajectories of the projected points visible in the proj plane and the frequencies of their appearing in various sectors of that plane. In the Appendix we present the derivation of the formula for the rotation matrix A employed in each step of the algorithm for obtaining the transformed data coordinates.

BACKGROUND This study examines associations between pedometer-determined steps/day and parent-reported child's Body Mass Index (BMI) and time typically spent watching television between school and dinner. METHODS Young people (aged 5-19 years) were recruited through their parents by random digit dialling and mailed a data collection package. Information on height and weight and time spent wat...

متن کاملComparison of the Effect of playing and watching the Cartoon on Anxiety before Anesthesia in 3-6 Years Old Children Candidate for Tonsillectomy
Introduction: Anxiety before surgery can have a different effect on children and their families and affect the treatment process. Previous studies have shown that the use of non-medical techniques (watching cartoons and playing) has a beneficial effect on children's anxiety in comparison with pharmacological methods. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of two methods of...

متن کاملThe effect of educational programs based on the theory of planned behavior on parental supervision in students’ television watching
Background: Excessive and uncontrolled television watching by children predisposes them to some risks such as developmental, social and psychological disorders. Parents play an important role in nurturing their children and controlling the factors affecting their health. The aim of this study was to determine the impact of health education programs on parents’ supervision skills to contro...
